Sgt. Freddie Brown served with distinction in the United States Marine Corps from 1965 – 1971, directly after high school graduation. He spent two tours of duty in the Vietnam War, from 1965 – 1967 and 1969 – 1970. For his military service, he received among other awards, two Purple Hearts.
