About the Book:
An accomplished young man, James, joins the military and becomes a pastor while serving his country as a chaplain. During his service in the U.S. military he is injured and develops Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other medical conditions that push him to the edge.
Ultimately, after the brutal loss of his spouse while serving in Guatemala, he returns home spiritually defeated. He eventually seeks treatment and volunteers at a local VA hospital where he meets Gracie, a spiritually filled woman who guides him back to the cross to receive grace from almighty God. But soon, tragedy after tragedy strikes again. Will James find peace and Grace through God again in the face of adversity in this Christian drama?

Raul Romero, my neighbor, friend and shipmate has written a very thoughtful book. Though it is fiction, it deals truthfully with God’s power to redeem and sustain. Raul’s novel about a military Chaplain and his journey “through the valley of the shadow of death” (Psalm 23:4) will resonate particularly with those of us who have worn the uniform of our armed forces, but I believe it will also touch the hearts of all who read it.
